For 30 years, EHO has worked to create a fairer society, emphasizing human dignity, philanthropy, equality, and social justice for all. As an Education Assistant in the "Poverty to Power" program, you will provide educational and psychosocial support and interventions to empower children facing social exclusion, poverty, forced marriages, violence, abuse, and deprivation. Your role includes facilitating creative workshops using non-formal educational methods (arts, crafts, drawing, puppetry, and language learning). You'll also offer one-on-one support for children's learning and homework, fostering positive, respectful relationships. Collaborating with other volunteers and staff, you'll help tailor the program to meet the diverse needs of the children. Additionally, you'll monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the program to ensure children improvements. Your cooperation with the Center for Social Care and Center for Migrants will further enhance the project's impact and outreach.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will be accommodated in a spacious apartment in Novi Sad, with each volunteer enjoying their own private room. The apartment will have at least three bedrooms, along with a shared bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. All necessary furniture will be provided. You will receive 470 EUR monthly to cover meal, communication, and local transport costs. Transportation will be arranged through public buses in Novi Sad, providing easy access to project locations. When necessary, EHO cars will provide transportation, ensuring volunteers can reach their destinations efficiently and safely.

Training during the activity

You will participate in a training program designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to support marginalized communities effectively. Sessions will focus on the cultural and educational needs of Roma children, children in shelters, and refugee children at Migration and Reception Centers. You will learn about the unique challenges these groups face and strategies for fostering inclusion and empowerment, as well as understand the support systems available to them. Training will also cover project management, intercultural competencies, and effective communication in diverse settings.
