Description
You will ensure the adoption of MEAL standards and promote quality and adaptive management across national Missions by contributing to their dissemination and implementation and ensuring their tailored integration in each mission context. You will enhance data management and visualization systems in the national Mission teams, collaborating in the set-up of data management systems, and training teams in their use. You will also strengthen evaluation procedures and promote organizational learning, supporting the establishment of accountability mechanisms to capture beneficiaries' perceptions and feedback and encouraging their integration for lessons learned. You will contribute to the dissemination of best practices with a focus on improving MEAL interventions, facilitating meetings and webinars to share effective solutions in monitoring and evaluation and providing ongoing support to teams through personalized advice and practical recommendations.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
A monthly Subsistence Lump Sum will be provided to cover basic needs such as food and personal hygiene items. Accommodation, travel costs, visa, pre-deployment medical check + vaccinations (if mandatory for the country), allowance will be covered. In case of need, a Fewer Opportunities Support will also be covered.
Training during the activity
The Volunteer will attend online before and on-site induction at the arrival to her/his deployment Mission. Training during deployment will also be offered to improve the volunteer’s skills and competences.
Participant profile
You have university studies in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics and proficiency in French and working knowledge of English. With good knowledge of data visualization software such as Excel and Power BI, and data collection platforms like Kobo Toolbox or ODK, you have expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods, and solid understanding of international MEAL standards. You have advanced analytical skills and the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and effectively disseminate large quantities of information, ensuring high levels of precision and attention to detail. Capable of synthesizing complex data into actionable insights. Skilled in crafting queries, generating detailed reports, and presenting findings in a clear, concise manner to diverse audiences, thereby enhancing understanding and decision-making. Previous work or volunteering experience in MEAL and data analysis, gained through academic or community initiatives, ideally within a humanitarian context, preferably in an African setting, participating in applying MEAL standards, collecting and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data, and facilitating training and knowledge transfer are assets. Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
