Volunteer Opportunity at the University of Gdańsk: Supporting International Cooperation and Integration

Description
We are seeking a volunteer to join the Cooperation and International Relations Office (CIRO) at the University of Gdańsk (UG), a leading institution in northern Poland. Located in Gdańsk UG offers a unique blend of history, modernity, and professional opportunities. Volunteers will support CIRO and the Welcome Centre, assisting international students, staff, and visitors with settling in and integrating into the UG community. Tasks include organizing workshops, managing social media, conducting surveys, and handling administrative duties. Volunteers may collaborate with the promotion department, Psychological Support Centre, university media, and more. The role encourages sharing ideas, participating in workshops, and helping with events for international students. Guidance from UG’s Career Office is available. This project fosters integration, promotes internationalization at home, and builds cross-cultural dialogue.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
We provide accommodation at the University dormitory, meals, a travel grant (based on the country of the project), insurance with a private company, and a pocket allowance. Travel costs will be reimbursed in accordance with the travel grant policy.
Training during the activity
Volunteer is obliged to participate in training provided by National Agency (On-arrival training and Mid-term training).
Participant profile
The candidate should have very good communication skills in a multicultural, international academic environment with communicative English language proficiency level. Key qualities include openness, willingness to learn, a desire to share knowledge about their own country and customs, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The candidate should also possess a good attitude, attention to detail, and an eagerness to help with social media and develop social media management skills. This opportunity is best suited for someone who is tolerant, motivated, and ready to contribute to the goals of integration and international cooperation. We are looking for a dedicated volunteer who can commit to staying with us for at least six months. The start and end dates can be adjusted in coordination with the volunteer.
