Description

Youth For Understanding seeks a European Solidarity Corps volunteer for six months at its Global Office in Brussels! The role involves enhancing advocacy and communication skills while working with the Communications and Advocacy Specialist to promote YFU’s activities and impact. The volunteer will also learn about global intercultural youth exchanges, participating in organizational tasks, and supporting communications related to YFU IES and EEE-YFU public affairs, focusing on website management, copywriting, and storytelling. This experience offers insight into the operations of a global NGO, collaboration with various departments, and opportunities to explore different fields based on professional interests. Start in January 2025, with flexibility. Applications are processed on a rolling basis—apply quickly!

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will work mostly on-site on a full-time basis (38h/week) per Belgian law. You are responsible for finding accommodation in Brussels for the time of the volunteering program, but we will help you with some advice on where to look for accommodation. Food and travel costs are covered by the ESC stipend.

Participant profile

Eligibility criteria Between 18 and 30 years old National and legally resident of one of the EU countries + Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, NOT Belgium (no in-country mobilities in this program). Preferred skills and knowledge ● High level of English (important for content creation) ● Experience with social media management (LinkedIn is a plus) ● Experience with video editing ● Previous knowledge of the European Education Area, the Erasmus+ programme, Pupil Mobility Field is a plus ● Previous knowledge on global and transversal competencies and how they are embedded in European policy is a plus ● Knowledge of French is an advantage ● A proactive approach to work
