Description
The general objectives of this project are to generate a dynamic, creative and participatory environment through playful activities that stimulate the hospitalised child. On the one hand, support shall be provided so that the child normalises and experiences the hospitalisation process in a non-traumatic way and that its relationships with other children are forstered. On the other hand, parents are given free time to reduce emotional stress, disconnect, allow them to leave the hospital site and to carry out routine activities. The activities promoted through this project are recreational in order to use the inner potential of each child to overcome the psychological, social and emotional limitations and to give them techniques, dynamics and forms of expression to be able to better deal with this tough disease.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The activity of the volunteer, within this project, will not involve any personal expenses. The Fundación Pequeño Valiente, through the grant received in the framework of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), will cover all expenses related to transport, accommodation, meals, insurance, tutoring, etc.
Training during the activity
Upon arrival, a contract between the volunteer and the organisation will be signed. This document specifies the conditions of the project as well as the rights and obligations of the volunteer: - Duration and place of the volunteering - Tasks to be carried out - Duration of the contract, with start and end dates - Rights and obligations of volunteers (allowances, insurance, accommodation, etc.) - Confidentiality - Training plan After acceptance, the volunteer will receive a training plan based on the following modules: - Volunteering, Cancer, Emotional reactions, grief.
Participant profile
the criteria that the volunteer profile must meet are as follows: - Be of legal age - Responsibility and commitment - Social skills, such as: intercultural sensitivity, communication, group dynamics, teamwork, ability to be dynamic, creativity and initiative. - Adequate physical and psychological health profile
