Converging energies: Dynamism and Discovery

Associazione Costiera Amalfitana Riserva Biosfera
Buccino (SA), Italy
Description
For this project in Buccino, Salerno in Italy we're looking for 12 participants between the ages of 18 and 30 to join us in a project focused on the discovery of permaculture, handicrafts, ethnographic research, and valorisation of the territory through two of its most iconic moments at the end of winter: Carnival and the traditional bonfires of St. Joseph. The initiative aims to create lasting connections between the participating young people and the area, fostering cultural exchange and best practices with the local youth forum and other organisations that are engaged in developing traditional events in collaboration. Activities will be coordinated by Mòvesi. Part of the available places will be reserved for people with fewer opportunities (e.g. geographical, economic, cultural barriers etc.) to have an inclusive project. Please mind that travel days will be February 27th and March 31st; for Green travel there are more travel days.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The accommodation is in the historic centre of Buccino in "Casa Mòvesi". Casa Mòvesi provides a fully equipped kitchen ( with 3 stovetops, 2 ovens, 2 sinks, 2 refrigerators, and a dishwasher for self-managed meals) and shared rooms. Wi-Fi connection is limited in some areas due to the historical walls. Travel costs will be reimbursed according to the ESC guidelines. Travel budget can be slightly higher for Green travel (according to the ESC guide).
Training during the activity
Volunteers will be guided by the trainer Giuseppe Castellucci who is a videomaker, Italian language teacher for foreigners, facilitator in the linguistic, artistic, and literary fields, organizer of outdoor educational activities, biophile, and passionate about everything related to nature and living in harmony with it.
Participant profile
We are looking for participants motivated to learn and share knowledge about permaculture, crafts, local traditions and knowledge of the cultural heritage of the Buccino area. Young adults aged 18-30 with manual skills for handicrafts, gardening and aptitude for curiosity and relations with locals.
