Description
This European Solidarity Corps team volunteering project focuses on the creating a thriving, sustainable space that combines nature, education, and innovation, offering both volunteers and the local community the opportunity to actively engage in the preservation and enhancement of our environment. The primary goal of the project is building on the foundations laid by previous volunteers, complete the development of a mixed forest polygon, botanical garden, and greenhouse, while also incorporating innovative technologies that support sustainable agriculture. Through this, aim is to promote environmental awareness, encourage practical learning, and provide a platform for cross-cultural exchange among young volunteers from across Europe. One of our key objectives is to enhance the local environment and increase public awareness of biodiversity and sustainable agriculture.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation and food within this project are funded by the EU. Participants will be accommodated in a rural house GREENVILLE in a surrounding area of Samobor, in a 2-6 person bedrooms with shared bathrooms. Travel expenses of the participants are covered in line with European Solidarity Corps Programme rules and European distance calculator. This project fully implements a practice of GREEN TRAVEL, in line with priorities set within ESC Programme guide for 2021. – 2027.

Participant profile
Commitment and Involvement: Volunteers should be fully committed to participating in all project activities with enthusiasm and dedication. They should be prepared to contribute their time and effort to developing the educational polygon and enhancing the community's connection to nature. Rural Living and Volunteering: Volunteers must be aware and ready to live and volunteer in a rural setting for 23 days. This includes being prepared for rustic living conditions, outdoor work, and the challenges that come with a natural environment. Teamwork and Cultural Exchange: Volunteers should be eager to work in a team and live harmoniously with other volunteers from different countries. This project is a great opportunity for cultural exchange, so an open-minded and cooperative attitude is essential. Language Skills: A basic level of English is required to ensure effective communication among volunteers and with project coordinators. This will facilitate teamwork, learning, and overall project success. Inclusivity and Health Considerations: Health or other obstacles should not prevent potential volunteers from applying. However, it is important that they inform the organizers in advance to ensure that necessary measures can be taken to support their participation and maintain positive group dynamics. Age Requirement: Volunteers should be between 18 and 30 years old. This ensures a dynamic and energetic group that can fully participate in the physically and socially engaging activities of the project. By meeting these criteria, volunteers will be well-prepared to contribute to and benefit from this enriching and impactful project, fostering personal growth, community development, and environmental stewardship.
