Description
Geltoki is a non-profit cooperative cultural center for responsible consumption. The aim of the center is to promote initiatives aligned with solidarity economy movements, food sovereignty and alternative culture, aimed at raising awareness about the need for social and economic change that leads to a fairer relationship with people and the planet. In this opportunity we offer you to join the project by participating in both the cultural team and the ecological cafe team of the center. You will mainly collaborate in the organization and development of cultural events that are organized in the center with the person responsible for the activities and you will also help the cafeteria team as a reinforcement at coffee time. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
From the moment you are selected to join Geltoki the people responsible for the project in Pamplona will help you to find a suitable room/accommodation in the city, close in distance to Geltoki. You will never be alone in this process. Food: You will be able to eat daily together with the whole Geltoki team. You can also have lunch or a snack daily at the center, have a soft drink, a coffee... for free. As all the workers and volunteers of Geltoki you will have a 15% discount in the organic food and second hand clothes store of the center.
Training during the activity
As a volunteer, you will be mentored, coached and trained in your role from the concerning coordinator, through direct guidance and through learning by doing. The person responsible of your volunteering at the center will meet with you weekly to learn about your concerns and needs and to ensure that you are in good spirits and satisfied with your daily tasks and volunteering. If you are interested you will have the opportunity to improve your level of Spanish and learn the basics of the other local language, Basque.
Participant profile
We are looking for someone motivated by culture. In Geltoki we organize events with emerging local artists, professionals and amateurs as well as concerts, talks, gastronomic events, second hand markets and other events, always from a vision close to change and social transformation. We are looking for an awake, active and eager to collaborate with a young and dynamic team. It is not necessary to have previous experience in cafeteria, it is enough to show willingness to learn quickly. We will value very positively that you are able to understand and communicate in Spanish.
