Description

The Cavan Centre is excited to announce an opportunity to join our team as an ESC Volunteer for a 9-month placement beginning in January 2025. This position offers a unique chance to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable experience in community development and youth work. Key Responsibilities: Engage with visiting groups in outdoor activities, ensuring fun, positivity, and enjoyment for all participants. Participate in community development and youth work initiatives. Handle equipment preparation, storage, and maintenance. Assist with cleaning duties in various areas such as activity zones, residential units, and dining spaces. Participate in water and land activities, staff meetings, and group management. Support kitchen operations, including cleaning, dishwashing, and occasional food preparation. Provide assistance with bed making and laundry tasks. Capture data and manage feedback forms.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

As a volunteer with us, you’ll enjoy: Travel Costs Coverage: Reimbursement for travel expenses, up to the limits set by the Erasmus+ Guide distance calculator. Free Accommodation: Comfortable lodging provided in a local home, conveniently located about 5 minutes from Ballyjamesduff, Cavan. Work-Related Travel Costs Covered Weekly Allowance: €190

Training during the activity

Training & Requirements: Complete Child Protection Training. Undergo Garda Vetting.

Participant profile

By participating in the ESC, young people join efforts to build a more inclusive society, support vulnerable populations, and address pressing societal challenges. This opportunity is open to young individuals aged 18 to 30, offering them a platform to contribute meaningfully while learning and developing along the way.
