Description
Alianza por la Solidaridad, member of ActionAid, aims to achieve an active citizenship that fights against inequalities and for the recognition of human rights. Alianza's work in Palestine focuses on promoting human rights and combating gender-based violence (GbV) from a holistic perspective, including awareness-raising, opportunities for women and multi-sectoral care for survivors of GbV, among others. Join us at our offices in Palestine! You will mainly support in proposal development, monitoring, reporting and justification of projects and activities. You will work with a professional team in a complex context that allows for a large and rapid learning process. At the end of your experience you will be familiar with the project cycle of development and/or humanitarian action. You will work with local partners in Gaza Strip, West Bank and East Jerusalem. This opportunity includes some dedication to projects in Jordan, where the volunteer will be physically located for his/her safety
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
You will have the opportunity to live with other people but with individual bedroom. The accommodation costs and utility bills will be covered by the organization. A phone card be provided. The house will be in Amman. You will receive a monthly allowance of 790€ for your personal expenses, including food and local transport. There is freedom of movement but always complying with the security directives. You will also be covered with a health insurance (Henner).
Training during the activity
You will receive training which will cover topics such as: induction to Alianza por la Solidaridad, induction to the European Solidarity Corps, responsibilities and rights of the organisations and of the volunteer, Youthpass, Henner insurance and SHEA. In addition you will be trained more specifically in feminist principles and other training opportunities which may include: International Humanitarian Law, security management, gender, disabilities, etc.).
Participant profile
We are looking for a person eager to learn and work in a team and able to adapt to a multicultural and diverse environment, who respects the different cultures found in Palestine and Jordan. Passionate about human rights and gender justice and motivated to develop project cycle management skills. Prior experience and knowledge of development and/or humanitarian aid will be an asset. Fluent in English and able to adapt to complex situations. If you are migrant, live in rural areas, have limited economic support or any other don´t hesitate to sign up, this opportunity is for everyone!
