Volontariato presso un centro giovanile a Ioannina, Grecia
Associazione Antigóna
AMKE KENTRO NEON IPEIROU
IOANNINA, Greece
Description
As an ESC volunteer, you will help to run the youth center, offer weekly activities to young adults, plan and manage small-scale events, assist with the work on large-scale events, if planned by the organization, and work on online content creation on social or cultural heritage themes, addressed to local young adults (video making, photography, podcast, etc). You will be working individually and possibly in teams, in daily cooperation with a youth activity coordinator. Depending on daily needs, you will be helping with other various tasks at the youth office. This can include workshops, social media management, and idea generation. Through this experience, you will develop skills in youth work, non-formal education, and cultural awareness, while gaining experience in addressing youth social issues. This way you will enhance your social responsibility, creativity, and digital competencies, all within a multicultural environment that fosters growth, learning, and personal development.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
You will be provided with shared accommodation in Ioannina, ensuring a comfortable and social living environment with other volunteers. Your travel costs from Italy to Greece will be fully reimbursed and you will be provided with a health insurance. Monthly financial support will be given to cover food expenses and pocket money. Additionally, transportation to and from the activity venue will be arranged and covered by the organization, making it easy for you to participate in daily activities. All arrangements are designed to support your integration and well-being throughout the project.
Training during the activity
You will receive training sessions on all activity-related themes, which will help you understand your tasks and responsibilities. Additionally, there will be weekly individual and group tutoring sessions to support your personal development and integration. You will also have a mentor who will assist you with local life and guide you through the activities. These training opportunities are designed to enhance your skills in youth work, non-formal education, and cultural awareness.
Participant profile
You should be at least 22 years old and fluent in spoken English. We are looking for someone who is autonomous, responsible, and eager to take initiative by proposing ideas and leading activities. You must be comfortable working in a multicultural environment and be open to learning from diverse perspectives. A genuine interest in youth work, social inclusion, and educational issues is essential. Previous experience in volunteering or social activities is highly valued, as well as any background in youth work, non-formal education, or digital content creation. You should be proactive, able to adapt to different situations, and passionate about making a positive impact in the community. Strong communication skills, creativity, and a willingness to collaborate with others are important to succeed in this role.
