Inclusive Learning In Volunteering Experiences (iLIVE!)

Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS)
Valletta, Malta
Description
The iLIVE! project provides learning opportunities for young people with disabilities through sports volunteering. It brings together 7 local and 5 international volunteers in international teams for short-term initiatives, fostering inclusive learning experiences and encouraging participation in both mainstream and disability-focused sports. Volunteers will design campaigns to attract both young people with disabilities and new sports organisations to participate, promoting personal and professional growth. Key activities include organising volunteer taster sessions in various sports club roles such as hospitality, event management, bookkeeping, fundraising, facility maintenance, communications, and coaching.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteers will stay at Rivotorto in Birkirkara, Malta (https://maps.app.goo.gl/VdNR892Q5LaDUmT86). They will have 4 shared triple rooms. There is a small garden, common rooms and a roof where the volunteers can brainstorm or spend their free time getting to know each other. Breakfast is provided everyday, together with another meal. Participants will receive a daily pocket money of €6. The house is located in a central area, a few metres away from the bus stop. Bus cards will be provided to the international volunteers. Maltese residents are expected to have a tallinja card.
Training during the activity
Participants will attend a pre-departure meeting to receive key information and preparations. Over three weeks (21 days), they will receive training and expert support to enhance their volunteering experience with knowledge, practice, and purpose. In the final days, a "Future Opportunities" session will guide volunteers in their professional and personal growth, encouraging further volunteering, training, and career development. A mentor will provide support, and the international community will contribute to their development.
Participant profile
We are searching for 12 volunteers interested in inclusion, including volunteers with disabilities (7 locals and 5 internationals) who can collaborate in a team. Previous work experience and qualifications may be useful but not necessary. We are looking for proactive, motivated, empathic, creative people with good communication skills. YOU SHOULD be interested in contributing in a voluntary field and have interests in sports and community building. The project is also open to fewer opportunities profiles (Read more: https://erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu/programme-guide/part-a/priorities-of-the-erasmus-programme). Candidates must be 18 to 30 years old and reside in one of the eligible countries.
