Inclusive Learning In Volunteering Experiences (ILIVE)

Pi Youth Association

Izmir, Türkiye

Description

The iLIVE project provides learning opportunities for young people with disabilities through sports volunteering. It brings together European Solidarity Corps (ESC) volunteers in international teams for short-term initiatives, fostering inclusive learning experiences and encouraging participation in both mainstream and disability-focused sports. iLIVE! also aims to expand inclusive volunteering by engaging more sports clubs and associations at the grassroots level. Volunteers will design campaigns to attract both young people with disabilities and new sports organisations to participate, promoting personal and professional growth. Key activities include organising volunteer taster sessions in various sports club roles such as hospitality, event management, bookkeeping, fundraising, facility maintenance, communications, and coaching. The project seeks 7 local and 5 international volunteers to promote multiculturalism, solidarity, and cultural understanding.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation will be provided at İZELMAN A.Ş. Örnekköy Social Facilities. You can find the address and location details at the following link: https://www.izelman.com.tr/tr/OrnekkoySosyalTesis/Index Breakfast and dinner will be provided for the volunteers. Additionally, volunteers will receive a daily allowance of €6 for pocket money, €3 for food and €1 Euro for local transportation. Each room will be shared by 3 - 4 volunteers. To ensure their comfort, all rooms are equipped with essential amenities, including a kettle, kitchen, TV, telephone, toilet, and bathroom.

Training during the activity

Participants will attend a pre-departure meeting to receive key information and preparations. Over three weeks (21 days), they will receive training and expert support to enhance their volunteering experience with knowledge, practice, and purpose. In the final days, a "Future Opportunities" session will guide volunteers in their professional and personal growth, encouraging further volunteering, training, and career development. A mentor will provide support, and the international community will contribute to their development.
