The power of together

Ljubljana Pride Festival co-creators 2025

Drustvo Parada ponosa

Ljubljana, Slovenia

Description

You will be involved in the co-creation of the programme of the Pride Parade Festival. This means you will be (physically) working together on the implementation of different activities and events, from exhibitions, round table discussion, workshops, concerts, conferences and of course, the annual Pride Parade! Please have in mind that this really means SUPPORTIVE TASKS during the events. You’ll be working closely with our team and the other volunteers to ensure this year’s Festival runs smoothly by carrying out the following tasks: Before the Festival: preparing the logistics, decorations, getting inputs, technical elements, promoting activities, visuals, assembling groups and making the plans. During Festival: making sure all of the agreed things are happening. After the festival: cleaning and organising, youth pass and evaluation. The work will take place at the office as well as at different venues. Learn more about the organisation here: https://ljubljanapride.org/en/

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The project includes: Fully funded travel and accommodation; Covered food expenses and pocket money; Mentoring and Youthpass certificate; Health insurance; Language support. Volunteers will be accommodated together, sharing rooms between 4-6 volunteers from the group. The work will take place at the local youth center, our office as well as at different venues outside. There is a very simple public bike system available throughout Ljubljana.

Training during the activity

At the start of the volunteering, we will organise an all day on-arrival training for the whole group. During the training we will get to know each other a bit better, present the Festival programme and the team, agree how we want to work together, present the ESC programme and its elements – including the mentorship and the youth pass. In the first two weeks of the activity, you will also have the opportunity to participate in workshops for young people to get to know our organisation and its scope of work better as well as in the LGBT tour.

Participant profile

You’re an LGBTIQ+ young person aged between 18 and 30 years old. You are a resident of the EU (including people from Slovenia) and you have a strong interest in LGBTIQ+ organisations, topics and politics. You’re sociable, fluent in English, enjoy working in a team and are not afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Due to high number of applications, please in your motivation letter focus on why you would like to volunteer with us / LGBTIQ+-specific organisation. After pre-selection all candidates will get an email with decision, also those pre-selected will be invited for an online meeting. Final decision around selection will be done by end of March. Soon after the agreements will be signed and travels booked. Looking forward to having you here with us :)
