30 YEARS TOGETHER (Europe Week 2025 in Jönköping)

Description

This year’s Europe Week project is called “30 YEARS TOGETHER” and it aims to celebrate 30 years of Sweden’s membership in the European Union. The local volunteers and current ESC volunteers will be joined by 15 European youth who will assist in the implementation of the activities across Jönköping, with an aim to explore what the benefits of EU cooperation for its members and their partners are. By participating in this ESC Volunteering teams project, the volunteers will: 1) improve their event management skills by taking different roles in the areas of marketing, social media, outreach activities, resource management, event logistics, communications etc. throughout the Europe Week 2025; 2) develop a deeper sense of citizenship by actively engaging in the education and promotion of the EU membership, its benefits and topics surrounding it; 3) become more skilful in intercultural communication especially in a European context by collaborating with a diverse team;

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

During the duration of the activities, the volunteers will be provided with: - Accommodation (for the first days in Brittebo camp site, and the rest of the days in a shared facility in Jönköping); - A public transport card (unlimited rides in Jönköping-Huskvarna zone); - Complementary health insurance (in addition to a European Health Insurance Card); - Food and pocket money; - Reimbursement for their travel costs (return trip) up to a limit depending on the distance; - Youthpass certificate of participation;

Participant profile

For this Volunteering Teams project, Ung Fritid is looking for 13-14 international and 1-2 local volunteers,, who are: - Open-minded and tolerant towards differences in backgrounds and abilities; - Willing to take initiative to plan, organize, implement, and/or evaluate local activities; - Ready to work on their own, as well as in international teams; - Willing to engage in learning opportunities offered during volunteering; - Capable of understanding and expressing themselves in basic English;
