The power of together

Working with children and teenagers in boys group - Small village of Rhüden in the Harzregion - Sonderpflege e. V.

Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband Niedersachsen e.V.

Sonderpflege e.V.

Rhüden, Germany

Description

For 45 years, Sonderpflege e.V., based in Barntrup, has been providing a second home for children and teenagers who cannot live with their parents. Sonderpflege is non-denominational and non-profit. The boys' residential group (WG) in Rhüden, run by Sonderpflege e.V., accommodates 8 boys aged 12 to 18. The group lives in an old villa in the village of Rhüden in the Harzregion. Each teenager has their own room, and there are cozy common areas and a garden. Supermarkets are right across the street. The nearest large city is Goslar, which can be reached by train from Seesen. A team of dedicated educators and a housekeeper are there for the boys 24/7, 365 days a year. We share daily life together, including school and leisure activities. We celebrate holidays and vacations in special ways and love going on trips. The boys are in school in the mornings, so work starts at lunchtime with a communal meal and ends after the evening routine.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You'll live in a 3-room apartment, possibly with a roommate, just a 5-minute walk from the residential group. In the WG team, you have a dedicated contact person and colleagues available anytime. During your work, you can join the communal meals for free and have access to drinks. In your free time, you cater for yourself. The Harz region is a recreational area with many leisure activities, and we are happy to support you in exploring them. You'll get a Deutschlandticket. The train station in Seesen is accessible by bus from Rhüden.

Training during the activity

You have a dedicated contact person in the WG-group team, who is also the team leader. They will coordinate your shifts and assignments with you. During work, there's always a colleague available for you. You'll have regular reflection sessions with the team leader, participate in team meetings and supervision, and join training opportunities offered by the organization. Additionally, you can attend a German language course and seminars provided by ESK and Paritätischer. At the end, you'll receive a "Youth Pass – Certificate."

Participant profile

You're the perfect match if you're an open, friendly, and humorous person who is excited to contribute to the youth group's daily life with your strengths and interests. Feel free to share your hobbies with the teenagers. We'll support you in finding your place within the team. German skills at A2 or B1 level and a valid driver's license in Germany would be helpful. You'll also receive 30 days of vacation, 210€ pocket money, food allowance, 27 seminar days, a German course, a 58-Euro monthly transport ticket, and a Youth Pass Certificate.
