Creating Safe Spaces and Youth Ministry

Don Bosco Foundation
Sliema, Malta
Description
The Don Bosco Foundation is a philanthropic organisation whose main work is to focus on the needs and education of children and young people especially those who are poor, in difficulty and abandoned. The main purpose of the Don Bosco Foundation is to support social and educational projects which promote the welfare and best interest of children and young people. The Foundation also promotes and supports the network of Salesian Voluntary Organisations in achieving their aims and objectives. The organisation takes initiatives to train and form volunteers to be able to support the work of voluntary organisations. It also offers support in the capacity building of the 14 registered Salesian Voluntary organisations. We have a range of services all aimed at children and young people in which volunteers can participate in the various services, events, and activities. The role of the volunteers can be adapted and matched with the experiences and needs of the volunteers.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The Foundation rents an apartment for its ESC volunteers covering accommodation, internet, water and electricity. Moreover, each volunteer will receive €16 a day to cover the costs of food and transport, even though public transport in Malta is free.
Training during the activity
Volunteers will receive training and ongoing supervision from the organisation's full-time staff throughout the entire year. They will actively participate in all project phases, with primary facilitation responsibilities resting with the employees, ensuring that volunteers are never assigned tasks independently.
Participant profile
We are particularly interested in creative individuals with a strong skill in digital marketing and the ability to manage and nurture our social media presence. Additionally, we are seeking compassionate individuals who are sensitive to the needs of young people living in home care, and possess the ability to facilitate and support them in their daily activities. We believe that a team of dedicated and talented volunteers with these qualities will greatly enhance our mission and the positive impact we can make in the lives of those we serve.
