The power of together

Eurobackyards 13

Fundacja Wiatrak

Bydgoszcz, Poland

Description

This project brings together European volunteers and Polish youth for a series of outdoor cultural and educational activities. Through games, workshops, and interactive presentations, volunteers will introduce children to different cultures while encouraging them to spend more time outside instead of in front of screens. By leading playground activities and sharing traditions from their home countries, volunteers will foster cross-cultural understanding, break down stereotypes, and promote active recreation. The project also highlights the value of international volunteering in connecting communities and inspiring young people to embrace diversity. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The "Wiatrak" Foundation provides volunteers with accommodation in a shared dormitory, where they will share rooms, a kitchen, and bathrooms—offering a great chance to integrate and connect. Additionally, volunteers will receive pocket money, boarding money, a transportation card, and coverage for travel costs, all provided by the Foundation.

Training during the activity

"Wiatrak" Foundation welcomes volunteers with an introductory workshop upon their arrival. This session provides an overview of the Foundation, introduces the team, and clarifies the roles of participants, coordinators, and mentors. To help volunteers familiarize themselves with their new surroundings, facilitators and mentors will organize a city game—an interactive and fun way to explore Bydgoszcz. Additionally, volunteers will have the opportunity to take Polish language lessons, making their daily life in Poland more comfortable and helping them engage with the local community
