Description
Irida Women’s Center is a Greek Civil Non Profit Organisation that supports refugee, migrant & local women who are among the most vulnerable. We provide individualized psycho-social support, protection services, and legal counseling, based on our members' unique needs. We allow local, refugee, and asylum-seeking women to develop their skills and access language & literacy classes, employability training, recreational activities, and a strong community network. Responsibilities: -Teach English language and digital literacy classes to adult women in a safe and supportive environment -Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students' needs and language level. General curriculum and lesson plans will be provided. -Encourage confidence and participation through a positive and inclusive approach and assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve - Support with other recreational activities (cooking, arts and crafts, gymnastics, etc.) as needed
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers are going to be accommodated in a fully equipped building located in the city centre near the main train and bus station of the city. It is an autonomous 5 floored building of 150 m2 per floor and a terrace on the 6th floor. There are two living rooms and a big kitchen, showers in the common floors and toilets in every floor. Volunteer from our other projects also stay in the house. Each volunteer will share their room from one to three more people. Food is provided through catering service, Monday-Friday. City bus transport card can also be provided to volunteers.

Participant profile
AVAILABLE JUST FOR FEMALE APPLICANTS (for obvious reasons)! What We’re Looking For: Proficiency in English is required (minimum C1 level, native speaker preferred) Proficiency in the use of computers and digital tools (Internet, Google Suite, Microsoft Platforms, etc.) Comfortability working with women from diverse backgrounds and adapting to a multicultural environment Previous experience teaching is highly desirable Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and cultural sensitivity. Additional relevant language skills are a plus (Greek, Ukrainian, Russian, Arabic, Farsi, French, etc.)
