The power of together

Summer camp at Ferencváros

Egyesek Ifjúsági Egyesület

Budapest, Hungary

Description

The Atlasz Tanoda (after-school) supports disadvantaged youth aged 10-18 in Ferencváros, Budapest, helping them stay in school and develop key skills. Their programs focus on education, personality development, IT, arts, and recreation while offering social and family support. Volunteers can join an international team to help organize a one-week summer camp at Lake Balaton, filled with music, sports, crafts, and cultural activities. The goal is to boost children's confidence, creativity, and curiosity about the world. Volunteers should enjoy leading activities like crafting, music, dance, sports, or cooking. The program consists of onboarding in Budapest, community programs in Ferencváros, and the summer camp in Balatonlelle. The emphasis is on creating a safe and inspiring environment where children can learn, play, and grow. More info: https://egyesek.hu/en/volunteering/ferencvarosi-tanoda-en

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

All volunteers will be accommodated in shared rooms in Budapest in a dormitory at the beginning and end of the project. During the Balaton camp, volunteers will stay in a youth camp together with the children in Balatonlelle for 5-6 days. We provide three meals a day (hot meals for lunch and dinner), with a vegetarian option available. Each volunteer will also receive €7 per day as pocket money. Travel costs to the project location will be reimbursed based on the distance after participation. All necessary equipment for the tasks will be provided.

Training during the activity

From Friday till Sunday an orientation training (movement, sports and games and facilitation skills) will be provided by an experienced Egyesek staff member. This will be followed by mentoring sessions to support the learning and professional development of you. In the institution school staff will provide further support if required.
