Description
We are looking for volunteers for the primary school (students between 7 and 15 years old) and for the kindergarten. The tasks are: supporting children in learning languages, running language club for children, helping teachers to prepare performances, decorations, presentations about other cultures or helping children to learn more about something particular. But in the same time they participate in the project based on creativity, art, building relations and discovering/developing many skills. As well as to be ready to share their skills with others. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will be accommodated in the flat with another ESC volunteers hosted in the project. There are mostly double rooms in the flat. We provide monthly cards for the public transport for volunteers to make it more comfortable to get to work or to our meeting. Every month volunteers receive pocket money and food allowance which is 250 € per month to their bank accounts. Volunteers from Europe should have EHIC, additionally Henner insurance is provided. Criminal record from each volunteer is required before starting the project.
Training during the activity
Each volunteer has to be prepared for the project by the sending organization. Coordinating organization (IB Polska) offers additional trainings regarding work with children and teenagers (PSEA) and self-development activities during the whole project. There is also on-arrival training offered by Polish National Agency and Mid-Term training in case volunteering lasts more than 6 months.
Participant profile
We are looking for candidates who would like to work with very young children with mental disabilities and are ready to give them their time. For sure you need to be patient and ready to built relationships with children, which takes some time in the beginning. Candidates need to be open, friendly, warm, creative and empathetic. And ready to learn Polish to communicate with children. It would be nice to have additional abilities, for example vocal, manual, musical or sport. Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years old, because it's the main rule of the European Solidarity Corps program.
