Description
The Women Digital and Financial Inclusion Advisor will play a crucial role in advancing digital and financial literacy among women’s groups. The volunteer will work closely with local communities to identify relevant digital tools, train women in their use, and facilitate access to financial services. The role also involves monitoring and evaluating project outcomes, advocating for marginalized groups, and providing training to enhance long-term digital and financial inclusion. The volunteer will research and identify digital tools to support women’s groups, train them in digital literacy, and deploy tools for financial management and communication. They will facilitate access to digital financial services, support groups in building financial records, and advocate for marginalized communities. Additionally, they will monitor project impact, collect and analyze data, and provide training for sustainability.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
GDCA will arrange accommodation close to the office as much as possible. It will be a one- or two-bedroom self-contained flat with soft furnishings enough to keep the volunteer comfortable. Utilities such as water, electricity, the Internet, satellite TV etc. will be provided as part of the package. The accommodation will have basic kitchen facilities for the participants to prepare their own meals. Participants can also purchase meals from a variety restaurants and food vendors, but caution is advised with purchases from food vendors. GDCA will provide transport for official duties.
Training during the activity
This opportunity is part of the BRIDGE project (Building Resilience, Innovation, Development and Gender Equality), in which volunteers will have the chance to work on a common objective: empowerment and skills development of vulnerable communities, with a focus on women groups and enhance digital skills, participate in UN Women Summits and animating digital workshops. Participant profile
This volunteer position is ideal for individuals passionate about women’s empowerment, digital inclusion, and financial accessibility. Candidates should have a background in social sciences, business administration, or a related field and a strong interest in community development. Experience in training, facilitation, or digital literacy programs is highly valued. Successful volunteers should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities. Familiarity with digital tools and financial inclusion initiatives is an asset, but a willingness to learn and adapt is equally important. Volunteers should be proactive, adaptable, and committed to driving social impact through digital and financial education. This opportunity is perfect for those looking to gain hands-on experience in grassroots development, contribute to meaningful change, and expand their skills in digital capacity building and financial empowerment. Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
