Organic Vegetable Gardens at Sieben Linden Ecovillage

GEN-Deutschland - Netzwerk für Gemeinschaften e.V.

Siedlungsgenossenschaft Ökodorf e.G.

Beetzendorf, Germany

Description

Being outdoors and growing food for the community will be your daily task in the two weeks as part of the volunteerring team. The garden team grows more than 50 different types of vegetables, fruits and herbs using different growing techniques and a variety of tools that you will learn. Interested in getting your hands dirty and working with your whole body? To see the abundance of food? Dive into community and ecovillage life, play volleyball in the free time or hang by the pond in the sunshine. Rent a bike on the weekend and drive around to other places.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation will be in your own tent - so pack everything you need to feel comfortable! We'll have one big group tent to meet together - it's your living room if you don't want to be outside in nature. Mostly vegan lunch and dinner will be provided by our amazing community kitchen team. Breakfast will be managed by yourself with ingredients from our cellar and storage space - i.e. bread, spreads, milk, peanut butter, marmalade, fruits, oats... All food is organic. Sieben Linden Ecovillage is easily reachable via Wolfsburg or Salzwedel with the local bus.

Training during the activity

We'll organise one workshop per week and you'll be able to join community events. You'll learn a lot how to grow and harvest food.

Participant profile

Only apply if you’re interested in healthy food and local food systems, and you’re keen to learn practical skills to address the climate and biodiversity crisis while experiencing community life in an ecovillage. Please use "Dear Sieben Linden" when you're applying.
