Description
In line with the European Youth Strategy, the general aim of the project is to support participation, empowerment, social and civic engagement of young people by promoting and facilitating their connections, relations and exchange of experience. The project will involve 4 young volunteers from different European Countries in non-formal education activities for social inclusion of people with fewer opportunities. In particular, the project aims to increase the active citizenship and physical and mental well-being of young people in disadvantaged rural areas. Main activities: • Intercultural and intergenerational laboratories • Mental health education and wilderness therapy • Leisure and recreational activities The activities will take place in Terralba, a small town in the west coast of Sardinia (Italy).
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will be accommodated in a private house, provided with double rooms and shared spaces (kitchen, living room and bathroom). Volunteers will be given a daily contribution of 11,00 € (pocket money + food money) to cover the expenses related to board and extra costs. Travel costs will be reimbursed depending on the EU distance band.
Training during the activity
General Online Training, Linguistic support, Pre-departure training, On-arrival training, Annual European Solidarity Corps events. Task-related training, non-formal training on soft skills, conflict management, team building and problem solving. Other trainings related to the project activities.
Participant profile
We are looking for volunteers aged 18-30. They should be open-minded, have good social skills, emphatic attitude, positive energy, flexibility, adaptability, motivation to learn from intercultural experiences and challenges, supporting each other and cooperating in behalf of a common purpose.
