ENGIM, in collaboration with UDAPT (Unión de Afectados y Afectadas por las Operaciones Petroleras de Texaco), is developing advocacy initiatives to raise awareness and contribute to institutional dialogue regarding environmental pollution and its social impact. The initiative focuses on collect and analyze data, produce reports, and develop communication materials to inform stakeholders. Tasks: Collection and analysis of data on environmental pollution and its socio-economic impact on rural communities Contribute to research-based reports, policy briefs, and advocacy materials Collaborate on the creation of communication campaigns Work with local communities to document the effects of environmental degradation Organization of public events and workshops with Institutions and civil society actors Assist in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of advocacy initiatives and stakeholder engagement Support Communication office Contribute to periodic reporting on activities

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

- Volunteers will be accommodated in a shared apartment or guesthouse in a community near the project area. Basic utilities such as electricity, water, and internet access will be available, though service may be intermittent due to contingencies. - A monthly allowance of €800 will be provided, covering daily expenses, food and local transport. - A laptop will be provided, and reimbursement for mobile phone expenses is included. - Flexible working hours and a combination of on-site and remote work may be available, depending on the autonomy of the volunteer and the schedule of activities.

Training during the activity

- Pre-departure training on humanitarian principles, security, and program-specific knowledge. - Pre-departure training on advocacy strategies, environmental policy, and communication techniques. - On-site induction on security protocols, cultural sensitivity, and project goals. - Ongoing mentorship on policy analysis, media engagement, and community-led advocacy. - Participation in capacity-building sessions with UDAPT and other local organizations.

Participant profile

- Education & Training: Degree in Political Science, International Relations, Environmental Studies, Communication, or related fields. Additional training in advocacy, policy analysis, or media communication is an asset. - Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical and research skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to synthesize complex data into clear and engaging content. Experience in advocacy, campaigning, or community engagement is a plus. Capacity to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. - Language & Technical Skills: Proficiency in Spanish (minimum B2 level required). Knowledge of digital communication tools and basic graphic design software is desirable. - Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
