Description

Lääne-Harju Huvikeskus is a public youth center located in the north-western part of Estonia. The organisation coordinates the work of seven youth rooms based in different small towns. Local young people aged 7-26 are welcome to join wide range of leisure activities organised by the permanent staff. The volunteers will be assisting a team of youth workers in daily activities of the centers in various locations giving a chance to see many places including beatiful nature and meet people around Lääne-Harju county. The youth worker provide task related support and guidance to the volunteers. Developing ideas and taking initiative is encouraged and fostered. Lääne-Harju Huvikeskus is open to host inernational volunteers who would become part of their community. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteers will be housed in a shared flat in a small town in Keila which is located near Tallinn. All the necessities are provided in the apartment. There is a frequent bus and train connection between villages in the area as well with the capital. Volunteers receive €5/day pocket money and a €200 food allowance, managing their own meals. International travel is reimbursed based on set travel budget and task related local transport is covered to full extent.

Training during the activity

Lääne-Harju Huvikeskus employs a team of committed and professional youth workers dedicated to supporting the personal development of volunteers throughout their stay. They are ready to offer emotional support, coaching and assistance with adjusting and shaping the ESC experience. Volunteers will also take part in the ESC training cycle organized by the Estonian National Agency, which focuses on personal development and intercultural learning. Additionally, EstYES organizes hikes and other activities for volunteers throughout the service period, providing opportunities for social interaction.
