MTÜ NOORTEVAHETUSE ARENGU ÜHING ESTYES

NGO Youth Club Active

Tallinn, Estonia

Description

IZUM Youth Club is a dynamic mobile youth learning and development Center that has been actively engaged in Tallinn, Estonia since 1994. Our mission revolves around fostering non-formal education opportunities for youth aged eleven and above, both locally and internationally. We offer a diverse array of activities aimed at self-development, encompassing various aspects of youth culture such as theater, music, dance, and art. This project presents an invaluable opportunity for volunteers to immerse themselves in the realm of youth work, directly engaging with youth within our organization. Volunteers will have direct interaction with the local minority community, enabling them to make a tangible impact. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will be provided with suitable accommodation conveniently located near their respective hosting organisation. Accommodation will typically be in a shared apartment or hostel, furnished with essential items. Rooms may be private or shared, depending on availability, with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Volunteers receive €5/day pocket money and a €200 food allowance, managing their own meals. International travel is reimbursed based on set travel budget and task related local transport is covered to full extent.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will take part in the ESC training cycle organized by the Estonian National Agency, which focuses on personal development and intercultural learning. Additionally, EstYES organizes hikes and other activities for volunteers throughout the service period, providing opportunities for social interaction.

Participant profile

The volunteer would be expected to appreciate young people, interact with them continuously, really take interest in them and in the activities. The volunteer would have to be proactive when interacting with the youth, take initiative in carrying out new ideas on his/her own but also help others in the process as well. Willingness to face challenges head on and also take responsibility are important qualities for the volunteer. The volunteer would be a vital part of the IZUM team of teachers and youth worker.
