Jugendwerk der AWO Wuerttemberg e.V.

Gymnasium Salvatorkolleg

Bad Wurzach, Germany

Description

The Gymnasium Salvatorkolleg helps its students to grow into responsible, understanding, and open-minded adults. This also includes intercultural experience which has a huge impact on development of the students. They have its own foundation that informs students about opportunities to go abroad, and hosts volunteers since 2009 to add an intercultural dimension to the school life and to support contact between German students and foreign volunteers. The volunteers should add an intercultural aspect to everyday life at the school and should challenge students and teachers to question their stereotypes. The volunteers work in non-formal and formal activities, such as workshops in art, music, language and culture, physical education, but also in the administrative part and helping in the school library, and throughout their presence in the school they leave a big impact. Salvatorkolleg is very open for new ideas and projects and is ready to support the volunteers in the implementation.
