Bringing Europe closer to its territories
UNION RÉGIONALE DES ACTEURS LOCAUX DE L'EUROPE EN AUVERGNE-RHÔNE-ALPES
Maison de l'Europe Drôme Ardèche
Valence, France
Description
The House of Europe is an NGO, labelled EUROPE DIRECT Drôme Ardèche. It works with the public by providing information on the European Union, animating debates and advising citizens and project leaders in the departments of Drôme and Ardèche. The mission is based in a human-cited city close to major cities and with easy access to mountains and rivers allowing to practice diverse outdoor activities. The main mission is to help the NGO with its daily activities (like updating educational tools and managing exhibitions) and to accompany the team in animation activities in schools and other partners. The volunteer will have the opportunity to create new forms of workshops, manage a radio podcast, organise big forums on mobility and engagement and to accompany young people in their international mobility projects. Working with other volunteers in the region will also be possible. For further details and please contact esc@urale.eu (with the mission name in the subject line).
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The ESC volunteer will be welcomed by a local volunteer, in an intergenerational perspective, managed by the NGO Solidarité Habitats. The rent will be paid directly by the host structure and the volunteer will receive an allowance for food and pocket money (480 EUR/month). The volunteer will be provided with a transport card or a bike rental to move around Valence. To enjoy the closeness to Lyon (1h by train), Marseille (2h by train) and Paris (2h by high-speed rail) they will also benefit from a train reduction card. The professional trips in the region will be covered as well.
Training during the activity
The volunteer will have access to a language learning platform which they can use during mission hours to learn French. The tutor will provide an initial training to familiarize the volunteer with digital and animation tools used to create workshops and communicate on events. Further trainings to learn the specificities of the tutor’s job could be organised on request. Two seminars (on-arrival and mid-term) will be organised by the French National Agency to bring together the ESC volunteers so that they could meet, exchange and learn together.
