Description
Volunteers will work at Assalam International School, Vocational Training Center, Youth Center, and Children University Assalam International School: *Assist in library, lab, and art/science classes *Be co-teachers, teachers, or facilitators. *Help children care for their permaculture gardens. *Accompany children on excursions. *Support rehearsals for showcase performances in front of the president. Vocational Training Center: *Assist in training programs for women in Tourism and Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry, Early Childhood Education, Sewing, and Permaculture. *Provide entrepreneurship skills training. *Organize trips and workshops. *Teach basic English. *Reach 50 women to support economic empowerment. Youth Center (Africamp): *Work in different camps (Orphan Camp, School Camp, Capacity Development Camp, Art Camp, Storytelling Camp, Leadership Camp). *Conduct 4-day camps focusing on leadership, teamwork, self-confidence, and problem-solving
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will stay in shared rooms (2 people per room). The accommodation has WiFi access. Volunteers will stay where they work so there Is no distance between the worksite. •Meals Provided: Yes, all meals are fully covered by Assalam Community Foundation. • Inclusions: Meals include breakfast, lunch, dinner. Tea, coffee and water will be available all day. • Food Allowance: Since meals are provided, no additional food money will be given to volunteers The travel cost will be covered. The pocket money is 500 EUR per month.
Training during the activity
Task-Specific Training • Teaching & Facilitation Skills – Methods for engaging children and youth in science, arts, and sports. • Vocational Training Support – Basics of tourism, hospitality, culinary arts, sewing, and permaculture. • Permaculture & Sustainable Agriculture – Hands-on training in organic farming and environmental sustainability. • Event & Workshop Management – Organizing educational activities, storytelling, and leadership camps
Participant profile
We are seeking dynamic, compassionate, and motivated individuals who are passionate about education, community development, women's empowerment, youth leadership, and sustainability. *Age: 18–35 *Open-minded, adaptable, and culturally sensitive *Background or strong interest in education, community work, arts, social work, agriculture, or youth empowerment *Experience in teaching, facilitation, or youth work is an advantage, but not mandatory *Willing to engage in teamwork and clear, respectful communication.
