Description
Bialystok University of Technology invites young people to take part in a volunteering project organized within the framework of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC)! For 14 days, volunteers will be part of an international team working together for climate action, sustainability, and environmental protection. During the project, participants will take part in training sessions on climate change, environmental protection, and active citizenship; co-create environmental campaigns and promote the idea of volunteering; develop materials encouraging eco-friendly attitudes; support the organization of the 14th International Staff Week, which will take place at the university during the project. A highlight of the program will be the greening of the BUT campus – carried out together by volunteers, ISW guests, and members of the local community. Each team will consist of 12 young volunteers. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will be accommodated in a dormitory located on the campus of BUT. Double rooms with access to shared bathrooms and kitchen will be reserved. You'll live with other volunteers in a safe&comfortable environment. The dormitory is equipped with kitchen utensils and internet access. Volunteers receive money for food and will prepare their own meals. Dormitories website: https://akademiki.bialystok.pl/student-residence-halls/. Volunteers will receive: €8/per day (pocket money), €12/per day as (food allowance) Travel expenses will be paid based on tickets presented upon arrival
Training during the activity
Volunteers will take part in at least one online training session before arriving in Bialystok. This training will provide all the essential information needed for the volunteers' roles. In addition, during their stay, volunteers’ knowledge will be supplemented with workshops, field visits, and group activities to encourage collaboration among them. Volunteers will be engaged in the following activities: 1.Supporting the 14th International Staff Week (9-13 June 2025); 2. Creating Information and Promotional Materials; 3. Participating in the Green Campus Initiative
Participant profile
Volunteers participating in the program should have the following qualifications: 1. open-mindedness, cultural involvement, creativity and proactivity; 2. Teamwork orientation, responsibility and openness to new experiences; 3. English language skills sufficient for effective communication; 4. solution-oriented, tolerant, organized and ready to follow organizational rules; 5. Openness to learning, training and new experiences Special interests and experiences: 1. interest in environmental protection; 2. Openness to participate in outreach and promotional activities, sharing their experiences and promoting the idea of volunteering (volunteers are encouraged to cooperate according to their skills and abilities); 3. openness to work in Canva. Important Note: Since the group volunteering activities will include work in the garden, we kindly ask volunteers to consider any potential allergies to plants, insects, or other environmental factors that might affect their participation
