Description
ENGIM and the Federación de Mujeres de Sucumbíos (FdM) collaborate to strengthen the organizational and economic capacity of women’s initiatives in Sucumbíos. The Federation manages services and commercial activities promoting autonomy and income generation for local women. Main tasks: - Assist in bookkeeping and administrative records. - Support the management of the Federation’s physical space and services (including room rental and hospitality services). - Coordinate bookings and supervise staff involved in cleaning and guest reception. - Help develop simple systems for internal logistics and inventory. - Support commercialization and promotion of products developed by women’s groups. - Facilitate workshops (talleres) on basic management, accounting, and organizational strengthening.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will be accommodated in a shared apartment or guesthouse in a community near the project area. Basic utilities such as electricity, water, and internet access will be available, though service may be intermittent due to contingencies. A monthly allowance of €800 will be provided, covering daily expenses, food and local transport. A laptop will be provided, and reimbursement for mobile phone expenses is included. Flexible working hours and a combination of on-site and remote work may be available, depending on the autonomy of the volunteer and the schedule of activities.
Training during the activity
- Pre-departure training on humanitarian principles, safety, and program-specific knowledge. - Training on advocacy strategies, gender-based violence, economic and social inclusion, and communication techniques. - Training on administrative, accounting and management topics. - Orientation on security protocols, cultural sensitivity, and project objectives. - Participation in capacity-building sessions with FdM and other local organizations.
Participant profile
- Education & Training: Degree in Economics, Management, International Cooperation, Development Studies, or related fields. - Skills & Competencies: Organizational and multitasking abilities. Flexibility and interest in grassroots operations. Sensitivity to gender-related issues in development. - Language & Technical Skills: Proficiency in Spanish (minimum B2 level required). Knowledge of basic accounting software and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets. - Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
