Description

As a volunteer with ORIEL, you will actively participate in local activities and support two key organizations in Verona: A.C.I.S.J.F. Protezione della Giovane, which offers shelter and assistance to women in need, managing both an Emergency Shelter House and a Hostel for Young Women Tourists. Volunteer tasks may include childcare (homework help, entertainment), supporting mothers (food distribution), administrative work at the hostel (reception, data entry), and promoting cultural initiatives.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Oriel will pay housing expenses for the duration of the project. Volunteers will sleep in a shared double room with the same gender. The accommodation is close to the Protezione della Giovane, almost in the city centre. Volunteers will receive the Pocket money. The money will be sufficient to cover daily expenses (household expenses, food, personal expenses, etc.). - Total pocket money+food money=350€ Travel expenses are cover by European Solidarity Corps, being reimbursed after the volunteer travels. Distance will be calculated with the official eu distance calculator

Training during the activity

The hosting organisation will be in the care of the volunteer during the whole duration of the ESC. The volunteers will receive an arrival/welcome training, and mentorship during the whole period. When the association is hosting European projects the volunteers might take part.

Participant profile

To be eligible for this opportunity, you should: Be female Be between 18 and 30 years old. Be passionate about youth work, youth participation, and international cooperation. Be open-minded, adaptable, flexible, and willing to engage with diverse communities. Have a working knowledge of English (additional language skills are a plus). Knowing little Italian represents an added value.
