Description
Trainstation in Jordbro is a creative digital learning space for young people aged 10–19. As a volunteer, you will support the team as a digital coach – guiding and inspiring youth to explore areas such as gaming, animation, media, electronics, and coding. You’ll help plan and run workshops, support informal learning, and contribute to a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. The aim is to spark curiosity, confidence, and creativity in the digital world. You’ll work in a collaborative environment with youth workers and partners from the community. Working hours include weekdays, both daytime and evenings. You will receive support from a mentor and international coordinator, and be encouraged to bring your own ideas and initiatives to life. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in digital youth work while making a real impact.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
As a volunteer in Haninge, you will live in a fully furnished shared apartment with three bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room, together with two other volunteers. You receive monthly pocket money and a food allowance to cover your meals. Volunteers are responsible for buying groceries and cooking for themselves. To support your mobility, we provide an SL travel card, giving you unlimited access to Stockholm’s public transport system, including buses, trains, and the metro.
Training during the activity
As a volunteer at Trainstation, you will receive: On-arrival and mid-term training provided by the Swedish National Agency Local introduction to Trainstation's methods, digital tools, and safety routines Ongoing mentoring to support your personal and professional development Opportunities to join workshops on digital creation, youth participation, and pedagogy Youthpass certificate to document your learning and competences You will be encouraged to learn by doing, explore new digital tools, and develop your own creative ideas.
Participant profile
We are looking for a motivated young person aged 18–30 with a strong interest in digital tools, creativity, and youth empowerment. You should enjoy working with young people, be patient, and driven by seeing others grow and learn. Ideal qualities: Experience or interest in digital creation (e.g. video, animation, coding, 3D, social media) Curious, self-driven, and open to learning new things Able to explain and guide others in a simple and inspiring way Comfortable working in a multicultural environment Basic English communication skills (Swedish is not required) Experience in youth work, education, or multicultural settings is a plus, but most important is your motivation, creativity, and willingness to contribute.
