Description

Apprentis d’Auteuil is a Foundation composed of more than 300 youth centers. Its goals are to welcome, educate, train and insert more than 40,000 young people and accompany their families. We help them to gain confidence in themselves and the adult world. We develop the individual talent and personal skills of each young person and help them to find their place both professionally and personally. Your main mission will be to accompany young people in their school lives, trainings, hobbies and their insertions. More especially, you will : - Facilitating the inclusion of young disabled people in school through activities (with educators/teachers). - Helping to prepare cultural projects with socio-cultural education teachers - Supporting eco-delegates in setting up their projects - Being an ambassador for European citizenship through activities - Setting up language clubs - Being involved in campus life - Helping young people with their homework

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will reside in school housing. Shower and toilet facilities will be shared with a civic service volunteer. You could eat at the school cafeteria from Monday to Friday. The school cafetaria is closed during weekends and vacations. You will have perdiem to buy your food and you could have access to a kitchen to prepare your own meals. There are plenty of shops close to the campus (by foot or by bus). A weight room is available at weekends.

Training during the activity

The French national agency for ESC projects will run 1 seminar in which the volunteer will be invited to take part. Also, you will have access to the EU Academy platform which offers online french trainings during your mission. 1 training in Paris with other volunteers will be offer to the volunteer on how to organise educative activities for young people.

Participant profile

The young people on campus are mainly boys aged 14 to 20. More specifically, we're looking for someone who : - enjoys working with young people - Would like to share their culture and passions (music, sport, art...) - Is aware of disability issues - Would like to get involved in cultural and sustainable development projects - Enjoys being outdoors (agricultural vocational training school)
