Description
MMRH in Georgia focuses on peacebuilding and conflict resolution in the South Ossetia region. It collaborates with international and local NGOs to promote dialogue and confidence-building for internally displaced persons. The organisation supports local youth initiatives, strengthens civil society in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, and works with Ukrainian refugees. Our projects are designed to address the problems of internally displaced persons and refugees in Georgia and focus on empowering women and youth. The Project Officer volunteer will contribute to the empowerment of women and youth and have the following tasks: • Program Development: Design and organize workshops, events, and learning activities focused on life skills and personal development, • Facilitation & Mentorship: Lead activities, guide youth, and provide mentorship, • Community Engagement: Build partnerships with local communities and involve youth in community projects, • Capacity Building: Organize trainings.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
MMRH is located at Tserovani IDP Settlement, a special village built for Georgian IDPs. The living conditions in the Settlement are the usual ones in this kind of environment. Basic services are accessible easily (water, electricity, gas is centralised). The speed of internet and connection is stable. The volunteer will regularly receive information, guidance, support, as well as a monthly allowance of 500 € to cover their food and other expenses. Accommodation, return flights, visa and vaccination costs, basic equipment (laptop and mobile phone) will be provided.

Participant profile
Required competences: • Written and communication skills • Details and deadlines oriented • Collaboration and teamwork • Able to work independently and work • as part of a team • Genuinely motivated to contribute • A willingness to learn • Respect and diligence • Degree and experience as social worker. • Fluent in English. • Autonomy, flexibility and adaptation. • Willingness to accept the local context. Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
