Description

Volunteering within our project involves engaging in daily non-formal educational, child-centered activities for children and young people from orphanages, primary schools, after-school programs, and kindergartens in disadvantaged areas of Resita (Calnic), Bocsa, Dognecea, and Ocna de Fier. Volunteers will also participate in youth center activities, aimed at involving local young people in social activities and facilitating interaction between them and the youth in the centers. Additionally, we organize cultural and volunteering activities that promote tolerance, inclusion, voluntary work, and solidarity. During the summer, volunteers will take part as a team member with personalised t-shirts in short-term, where they can facilitate the team building also to lead the teams. The volunteers will improve their skills during this stage.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteers will be hosted in a rented apartment / house, with single or double bedrooms. In the apartment / house there are all the necessary conditions for a good life. Rent and utilities (water, gas, electricity) also Transport and food and pocket money will be paid by the hosting NGO.

Training during the activity

The training will be provided by the Romanian National Agency. The OnArrival Training Online, and MidTerm Training face to face in Bucharest.

Participant profile

Aged between 18 and 30 years. Flexible, open-minded, tolerant, communicative. Interested in gaining experience in pedagogy, special education, non-formal education and in working with young people. Willing to work in teams or individually with initiative and creativity. Having a minimum A2 level in English.
