Volunteering in youth shelter with minors

NO BORDERS

Diapason Coop soc arl onlus

Monza, Italy

Description

Founded in 1985, Diapason Cooperative supports minors and families facing difficult social or economic conditions. Our work is grounded in solidarity, mutual respect, and inclusion. As a volunteer, you won’t just support daily activities—you’ll become part of a community shelter that provides stability and care to minors (ages 12–18) who have been temporarily removed from their families. You’ll collaborate with a team of experienced educators, psychologists, and coordinators, gaining meaningful insight into social work with vulnerable youth. This role requires maturity, empathy, and emotional resilience. You’ll grow personally and professionally through teamwork, creative problem-solving, and genuine human connection.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

As a volunteer, you’ll stay in the same building as the community shelter. 🏠 For safety and legal responsibility, a strict door curfew at 22:00 is enforced. You'll have your own private room and bathroom. The living room and eat-in kitchen will be shared with community residents, offering a chance to connect and immerse in daily life. To ensure your comfort, the hosting organization provides three meals a day and 60€/month for the food on the days off. You’ll also receive €6/day as pocket money (paid monthly). Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to European Commission.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will participate in various trainings related to European Solidarity Corps.
