Description
Volunteers will be working in the organization Anche noi a Cavallo: a therapeutic riding centre situated in the countryside of Porcia, a small town in the North East of Italy. Besides horses we work with dogs, cats, hens, and in the future donkeys. Activities are very wide and change depending on the time of the year and the weather. In late Spring and Summer together with the organization "Giovanni Paolo II" we organize Summer camps for children and teenagers and days are truly active.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
As a volunteer, you will live in a very modern and new furnitured flat together with 2 other volunteers from different countries, in the city of Porcia, quite close to the hosting organization. The accommodation will be provided in a shared room with a shared bathroom and kitchen. You will receive a monthly pocket money of 180,00€ and you'll be eating at the canteen of the parish and organization "Giovanni Paolo II". You can get a bike under the deposit of 40€.
Training during the activity
Volunteers will take part in the ESC training cycle organized by the Italian National Agency, in the Italian language course from late September on, in trainings offered in running educational and relational workshops and to work with animals.
Participant profile
Motivated to work in a team, in the open and under any weather, with animals and children, willing to learn, independent, propositive. Volunteer should be responsible, motivated, proactive, patient, tolerant and flexible to adapt to changes. Willing to work in an international social environment: firstly need to be high motivated to work with people with children and animals, secondly in the workshop activities and thirdly in living in Italy. Motivated to learn the Italian language. Determined to learn, dynamic, versatile, positive, curious, respectful, sensitive. Motivated for team work and educational paths. Able to share a flat with other young Europeans, or live with a host family and respect the rules. Passionate for the activities we offer. Volunteers should be aware that ESC is not a vacation, is not just travelling to another country but it is a full time learning experience in a safe environment. Horse riding will be a preference for selection. Speaking English (and Italian) will be an added value.
