Description

This will be the first edition of a small 3-day youth eco-friendly festival, taking place in the small community of Lousã, namely in the mountains and/or by the river. Focused on community, creativity, and connection with nature, this event brings people together through non-formal education, arts, and social engagement. A team of 5 international volunteers will work together with local youth in the planning, execution, and closure of the event. Each volunteer plays a key role in supporting the local community, facilitating educational and creative experiences, and ensuring a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for all participants. TASKS: Venue Setup & Decoration; Training & Team Preparation; Materials & Content Creation; Local Promotion & Community Outreach; Daily Coordination & Logistics; Interaction with the Public; Workshops Planning & Implementation; Cleanlinnes & Order; Collaboration & Mutual Support; Site Cleaning & Restoration; Team Reflection & Evaluation; Dissemination Support.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will share rooms in a fully equipped flat in the centre of Lousã, with access to services nearby: bakeries, supermarkets, cafes, pubs, pharmacies, health centre; post office, swimming pool, gym, nature and cultural spaces. Food & transport allowance will be provided at the beginning of the project. During the preparation and evaluation days, you will be able to reach the workplaces on foot. For the festival days and on-site preparation, there will be a van available, and you will go together with the team of trainers.

Participant profile

The volunteer's role involves working in a team environment, interacting with the public, and adapting to dynamic situations. Volunteers are expected to be proactive, responsible, and collaborative throughout the entire duration of the project. We are looking for young people who are: Motivated and curious; Open to teamwork and cultural exchange; Interested in event planning, education, art, media, or community work; Comfortable spending time outdoors.
