The power of together

"Build and Bond!" International Volunteering Camp at the Cigle Fé-Szek Social and Community Farm in Cegléd, Hungary

CIGLE FÉ-SZEK Mezőgazdasági vegyes gazdálkodású KÖZÖSSÉGI ÉS TÁRSADALMI CÉLÚ SZOCIÁLIS SZÖVETKEZET

Cegléd, Hungary

Description

Cigle Fé-Szek Social Cooperative is developing a social farm on the outskirts of Cegléd, focusing on sustainable living, permaculture, eco-architecture, and local tourism. The farm will host practice-based training, where young people gain hands-on knowledge of sustainability. During our Build and Bond! international summer volunteer camp, we’ll work together on setting up areas for farm animals and educational activities: building barns and fences, constructing some parts of the garden, and an outdoor oven. Besides the work, you’ll enjoy community games, nature-connection activities, and a craft workshop where you’ll create a souvenir from building materials. We welcome volunteers interested in sustainability and the organization's focus topics or simply wishing to spend time volunteering in a rural, friendly environment. Participation requires general physical fitness and at least basic English skills. We also warmly welcome Hungarian participants from across the borders.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation for the camp volunteers will be provided in the renovated farmhouse on the farm, in gender-separated rooms; the bathroom is shared but lockable. The kitchen and living room are for communal use. Cegléd’s city centre is accessible by regular bus service from the nearby thermal bath area. Alternatively, accommodation is also available at a private guesthouse near the bath, from where the camp location can be easily reached by bicycle. As part of the camp, one hot meal per day will be provided either on-site or at the nearby thermal bath, food intolerances considered if possible.

Training during the activity

After arrival, we will hold a general orientation and motivation training for you. During this, you will get familiar with the location, the country, local culture, and some essential Hungarian expressions. We will introduce the organization, the voluntary work team members, activities and security rules, programs, and the camp schedule. Since you will be working in a group, we will place special emphasis on community building as well. Together, we will go over the rules and guidelines related to work and camp life. We will also talk about the role of Youthpass in supporting learning.
