Act, Create, Connect – Volunteering with arco e.V.
arco - Erlebnispädagogik e.V.
Wiesbaden, Germany
Description
arco e.V. is a non-profit organization in Wiesbaden dedicated to intercultural exchange, creative education, and international youth work. The organization focuses on non-formal learning, fostering cultural diversity, and promoting active participation. Volunteers will engage mainly in supporting cultural projects for children (5-12 years, theater & circus pedagogy). They will have the opportunity to connect to a volunteering team that will be here at the same time and work with them on a stage performance. A key aspect is learning by doing, supported by an internal training program on non-formal education, group facilitation, and intercultural communication. The project offers volunteers the chance to develop new skills, gain international experience, and contribute to meaningful projects in an inspiring and diverse environment.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will stay in a fully equipped facility in Mainz, having their own room in a shared flat. They will receive 7 EUR/day pocket money and 333 EUR/month for meals. Travel costs are reimbursed per ESC guidelines. Volunteers also receive a Deutschlandticket, allowing unlimited public transportation within Germany. Insurance is provided through the ESC program.
Training during the activity
- Intensive theatre and circus training inspired by Augusto Boal’s methods. - Learning pedagogical approaches for working with children through performance and movement. - Participation in several 5-day creative and movement-based projects with children. Participants will also explore non-formal learning tools and develop their facilitation and performance skills in a supportive, artistic environment.
