Description
⋆.˚ To be eligible please fill out the Application Form through Google: https://bit.ly/leaves_application ˚.⋆ A story of leaving ‘your mark’ behind while the seasons change. The location itself is a key part of the experience. Hideghegyi Menedék, sits peacefully above the small village of Pécsely, about 15km north of the iconic Lake Balaton. Picture a small, dedicated group of people working, learning, and living together, building a shared dream rooted firmly in the earth. This project represents more than just volunteering; it's an invitation to join a living experiment, a journey towards a more sustainable, connected and meaningful way of life. It’s your chance to become part of our story that is still unfolding, contributing your energy and ideas to our growing eco-community. The experience is designed to be authentic, embracing the challenges of off-grid living, offering a chance to reconnect with the land, each other and perhaps, with a different way of being.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
For your accommodation, there are multiple options available: a yurt, an old stone house or tents. We do ask you to bring your own sleeping bag and enough warm clothing for the nights, as the weather in September can bring chilly nights. During hot days, temperatures can reach up to 30˚C. Cooking is a vital, communal act we all share. Every day, we'll take turns in the kitchen, collaborating to create delicious and wholesome vegetarian dishes that reflect our commitment to local quality ingredients. More infomation and support regarding your travel plans will be available upon selection.
Training during the activity
You will have the chance to learn about the principles of permaculture and take part in the practice of organic food production and garden maintenance. You can try out techniques for food preservation, take part in garden preparation, learn how to create compost and experience the world of foraging edible wild plants. Your efforts will contribute to tangible, lasting projects. Participate in eco-architecture practices, particularly helping to develop our outdoor shower space, using techniques like building walls out of woven frames, covered in clay.
Participant profile
Do you long for genuine connection – with the land, with a close-knit community, and perhaps most importantly, with yourself? We want everyone to have a fulfilling and enjoyable experience, therefore it’s important you are open to everyday tasks like gardening, building, cooking and maintenance, which are -building blocks- of our life, that can infuse yours too. To be eligible, you must be between 18 -30 years old with legal citizenship/visa in one of the mentioned program countries.
