Description

Mont-de-Marsan Agglomération (SW of France)supports over 1600 students through its Youth Center, which gathers various services including the Maison des Étudiants. The volunteer will contribute to welcoming international and special-needs students by helping them access local resources, discover the area, and connect with French language support and student services. The role also includes social facilitation within student residences, promoting interaction, well-being and autonomy. The volunteer will take part in communication initiatives (social media, podcasts), support events related to mobility, citizenship and sustainability, and collaborate on campaigns and local youth projects. Tasks include assisting with solidarity actions, contributing to intercultural and local events, and working with other volunteers. The volunteer will also be involved in identifying student needs, gathering feedback, and supporting the development of actions related to ecological and social transitions.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

- Independent accommodation in a student residence with private facilities (furnished and shared kitchen). -Transport provided (bus pass and bicycle available). -Monthly pocket money. -European card giving access to discounts throughout Europe offered. -Health insurance.

Training during the activity

Participation in the trainings organised by the National Agency (on arrival and mid-term). Many other trainings will be proposed to the volunteer to discover and get trained to various topics

Participant profile

Be aged between 18 and 30 years. Focused on solidarity and community support. Committed to promoting peace, environmental protection, and social inclusion. Skilled in engaging with diverse groups and fostering mutual learning. Capable of acting as a social facilitator and enhancing student well-being. Experienced or interested in sustainable development and transition initiatives. Able to create content and organize events to promote mobility and engagement. Committed to a pedagogical approach involving informing, understanding, and acting. Motivated to work collaboratively with students and local organizations.
