Description
The volunteer will support the institutional strengthening department of Asociación de Lisiados de guerra de El Salvador (ALGES), local partner of Fundación para la Cooperación APY – Solidaridad en Acción in El Salvador, specifically for the planning and management of projects through the next activities: - Support in project planning and design (Identify needs, create proposals, collaboration in defining objectives, results, indicators, activities); - Follow up on projects (Assistance with the systematization of progress and outcomes ); - Monitoring and evaluation (support on callecting information and propose improvements in the follow up on indicators); - Systematizacion on learning and good practices.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The project is financed by the EU and has the following conditions: -A monthly allowance of 700 EUR is provided to volunteer for covering basic needs. -The accommodation, visa fees, return flights, vaccination costs, the health insurance, basic equipment (laptop and mobile phone) and the expenses related to transportation will be covered by the programme; -For each month of voluntary activity 2 days of holidays are provided.
Training during the activity
The volunteer will get the chance to know the job of ALGES in the defense of human rights of people with disabilities. S/he will participate in the planning of projects and the elaboration of proposals for trainings, workshops and identify needs of the organisation. Volunteers will improve their professional knowledge through training in humanitarian action, and specific issues on security and will be provided with training resources to continue their learning. Those selected will receive briefings/training at MdM headquarters in Madrid (all costs covered).
Participant profile
Education in the area of social sciences and administration (international relations, sociology, social work, etc) and related; Knowledge in the formulation of projects of international cooperation; Clear writing skills; Knowledge of gender and inclusion approaches; Fluent in spoken and written Spanish; Availability of time within the indicated deadlines ; Commitment with the principles of respect, no discrimination and private information; Knowledge of the Central American context; Experience in Latin America will be valued. Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
