BioArt Laboratories - Hands-On Help: Monumental Clean-Up

Stichting BioArt Laboratories

Eindhoven, Netherlands

Description

We’re looking for 6 motivated volunteers to join a hands-on team effort to help clear out an old monumental building in preparation for its renovation! Period is September and October. What’s involved: Demolishing old, non-structural parts of the building Cleaning up debris and hauling materials Sorting through and organizing old items and materials Be part of preserving a piece of history while gaining hands-on experience in renovation prep. It’s a unique opportunity to contribute to the transformation of a significant building in our community. Requirements: Physically able and ready to get your hands dirty Comfortable with basic demolition and lifting Reliable and a good team player No prior experience needed — just enthusiasm! The place is located in Eindhoven at BioArt Laboratories. The building is part of a monumental complex of WW II era bunkers, disguised as traditional local farms, that is slowly transformed into a community place for the BioArts.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The accommodation is at BioArt Village, a beautiful location surrounded by a forest inside the city of Eindhoven. The place is off-grid, fulfilling basic needs, and participants must approach this with a non-wasteful mindset. Common areas include the living room, kitchen, shower and toilets. In addition to pocket money, you also receive food money, so basic cooking skills are necessary.

Training during the activity

No specific experience is needed—just a love of living in an offgrid, forest environment, a willingness to work physically, and an open mindset. You’ll gain practical experience and learn about preparing old buildings for renovation, and contribute to a meaningful project.

Participant profile

We’re especially looking for volunteers who are curious about practical work, and can thrive in a team while also being self-reliant. Resilience, motivation, and a positive attitude are essential. We warmly welcome applicants with fewer opportunities, and we ask that all participants are in good mental and physical health, and can commit to the full duration of the stay. Let’s create a future rooted in nature—growing it together, one project at a time
