Description

We're looking for volunteers to lead upcoming sports and recreational activities in Gdańsk for youth, adults, and seniors. These include calisthenics, boxing, kickboxing, martial arts, bodybuilding, zumba, yoga, stretching, dance, swimming lessons, Nordic walking, and other health-promoting activities. Completion of amateur or professional courses/training is highly recommended, as is previous experience in leading classes, or demonstrating experience in a given discipline is essential. Other skills, such as language, artistic, presentation, musical, and other skills, are also a plus. These skills are helpful for leading classes and workshops, or for assisting at a youth center, neighborhood center, Morena headquarters, information desk, etc.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Rooms for 2-3 people, shared with same-sex participants, with access to bathroom/shower facilities. A monthly fee of PLN 700 for food and cleaning supplies will be charged pro rata if meals are provided. Each participant will receive a €6 per day allowance, converted to PLN. Local transportation costs are reimbursed for travel between home and work. Travel expenses are subject to program rules. We cover 75% of the gym membership and/or provide access to our gym, and for those with special needs, we also provide integration and other support.

Training during the activity

Mandatory training will be organized according to ECS standards for volunteering; after 3 months of work: first aid; after 6 months: qualified first aid, sports and recreation, and volunteer work safety.

Participant profile

We are looking for volunteers who have completed amateur or professional courses in a given sport/recreation discipline, have previously conducted classes, OR are required to present their achievements/experience in a given discipline – in the form of diplomas, descriptions of achievements, letters of recommendation, etc. Additional advantages include: B2 English or higher, skills in conducting classes, e.g., artistic, linguistic, cultural, presentation, social media, etc. To collaborate with other volunteers, we are looking for volunteers who have good communication skills, are able to work in a team, and share tasks.
