Description

Volunteers will support activities at the Second Chance School (age 14–20), ATL, After-School Activities (age 10–15), and SAD, Home Support Service, for elderly people, including motor and recreational activities. They will also participate in the coordination and implementation of activities such as trainings, workshops, cultural events, and discussions linked to Erasmus+. Volunteers will also be encouraged to develop and implement their own activities (eg workshops, awareness actions, cinema sessions, group activities), including monitoring and evaluation. They may support young people in developing their own projects, such as youth initiatives or entrepreneurship ideas. The role also includes collaboration with local organisations, increasing learning opportunities and community impact. Additionally, volunteers may contribute to communication, promotion, and fundraising activities, as well as support actions with elderly people, fostering inclusion and intergenerational exchange.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Daily fee of 6 EUR; Round-trip travel reimbursed directly to the volunteer - upon presentation of boarding passes and invoices; Food, accommodation and transport - house with a single bedroom, Wi-Fi, kitchen, dining room, living room and full bathroom; TOTAL MONTHLY BUDGET: 6€/day for personal expenses + 240€ for snacks/meals + 40€ for transport.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will participate in training provided by the Portuguese National Agency (initial and middle training).

Participant profile

We are looking for a motivated, creative, and proactive volunteer who is open to exchanging experiences and learning in a multicultural environment. The ideal candidate should be open-minded, adaptable, and willing to engage with and face the challenges of working with adolescents. We highly value individuals who show empathy, patience, and a strong sense of initiative, especially when working in inclusive and diverse educational contexts.
