Description
The volunteer will work at the Association for Economic Initiatives INGO, which operates in Gostyń – a town in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. Our NGO was established in 2005 to support the spirit of entrepreneurship within the local community. We aim to create an environment that is friendly to business development, community engagement, and socio-economic growth. We monitor and support the local labor market, provide non-formal education, and assist in the development of rural areas. Our target groups include businesses, entrepreneurs, students, school pupils, unemployed individuals, and startups. We offer them consulting services, training, help with writing CVs and application documents, and support in obtaining funding for their projects. We carried out many projects for young people in schools – teaching them how to write a proper business plan, how to start their own company, and we even organized a city game.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteer will live in a fully furnished room with a private bathroom and access to a shared kitchen, having their own private space. The room is located in the same building as the Association’s office. In Gostyń, local public transport is free for everyone. The volunteer will receive monthly food allowance and pocket money (1300 PLN/month)
Training during the activity
The volunteer will attend Polish language lessons. In addition, they will take part in an on-arrival training and a mid-term training organized by the National Agency. The volunteer may also participate in trainings organized by the Association, for example in areas such as accounting, sales, e-marketing, law, and more. Leading organization (Stowarzyszenie Jeden Świat) will also provide different trainings focused on peace education.
Participant profile
We are looking for a person with an entrepreneurial spirit. You may already have some experience in education or economics, or you may simply be passionate about entrepreneurship, marketing, the economy, international trade, and global affairs. Most importantly, you should be eager to learn, motivated, confident, sociable, creative, have an analytical mind, and be a good team player. Our clients mainly speak Polish, so knowledge of the Polish language may be helpful. Knowledge of other languages such as Russian or Ukrainian is also welcome. The volunteer will take part in selected office activities – depending on their interests and skills. This may include: • assisting in the organization of events for entrepreneurs, • helping to create social media posts, • light office or graphic work, • contact with foreigners working in our region. No experience is required – what matters is the willingness to learn and a positive attitude! Volunteering is a great opportunity to: • get to know local entrepreneurs and see how the local administration works from the inside, • gain new skills (Polish language, communication, event organization), • carry out your own ideas and initiatives, • and of course – discover Gostyń from a different perspective.
