Key responsibilities include: Promoting international voluntary service and creating promotional materials. Participating in informative sessions and training workshops. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will be responsible for finding accommodation in Barcelona, with COCAT providing support and guidance if needed. Depending on the rent of the chosen apartment, additional organizational support will be provided to cover food and transportation expenses. Barcelona is a vibrant and dynamic city, but its size, fast pace, and high cost of living can feel overwhelming at first. Newcomers may initially feel a bit lonely, and finding affordable accommodation can be really challenging. We will help volunteers settle in and ensuring a smooth start.

Training during the activity

At the start of their placement, volunteers will participate in the ESC “Welcome Training”, which provides an introduction to the program and prepares them for their tasks. Later, they will take part in the “Mid-term Evaluation” training to reflect on their experience and further develop their skills. Additionally, volunteers will receive specific training tailored to the area they will be supporting in COCAT’s office, ensuring they are fully prepared for their responsibilities.

Participant profile

We are looking for volunteers who are highly motivated, proactive, and passionate about youth and voluntary projects. Ideal candidates will have experience in volunteering and back-office tasks, a good command of English, and an understanding that the role involves significant administrative responsibilities. Additional assets that will be positively valued include: Participation in workcamps or other international youth projects (youth exchanges, training courses, camp leaders...). Knowledge of Spanish and a willingness to learn Catalan. Interest or experience in communication and social media. Ability to work with foreign languages. This is an excellent opportunity for volunteers who enjoy combining administrative work with promoting international youth mobility and engaging with a diverse, international team.
